Our Story
HISTORY
American MTS was founded in 1972 as American Rewinding in Monroe, NC. During that time the textile industry was flourishing in the Carolina's and became the primary industry served. Over the years, market conditions have changed requiring the company to expand and diversify.
Where we've been.
2002
American Rewinding was purchased by Michael and Richard Huber.
2006
American Rewinding merged with Motor and Transformer Services and moved the operations to the current location at 1825 N. Rocky River Rd. This merger provided larger equipment capabilities and transformer repair expertise.
2011
Central Electric and Rewinding of Florence, South Carolina was merged into American MTS. This merger brought the many years of expertise from its staff and a larger geographical area served.
2014
Electric Motor Service of Shelby was merged into American MTS. This merger expanded our geographic area covered and capabilities including servo motors. Later that year our Monroe location achieved the new industry standard EASA accreditation.

Through equipment investments, staff training, and facilities upgrades, American MTS continues to lead the way in providing the most diverse electro-mechanical apparatus repair services in the Carolina's. ​ ​

Our mission is to provide services designed to reduce our client’s equipment repair expenses and unplanned downtime by producing the highest quality repairs, spares management, precision installation services, condition based monitoring, maintenance programs and diagnostic testing.
